Electric Showers Safety
An electric shower installed in your bathroom gives the room a sense of completeness and style. Knowing you can come home and have a piping hot shower without having to fiddle with temperature controls and not be affected by other people turning taps on is ideal.
To maintain an electric shower, there are several areas to look at with daily tasks or others which only need to be completed every six months.
As soap scum and other obstructions such as hair can build up on the shower head and handle, it is best to clean this regularly to remove debris and any build up of scale. This build up will over time limit the power of the water coming out of the shower head to a clean head is a powerful head. The cleaning can easily be achieved by using bathroom cleaners, detergents or liquid soap.
Cleaning the inner parts of the shower is also beneficial for the overall performance and long life of your electric shower. This can be done by yourself or by a plumber if you are not sure what you are doing as well as the safety aspects of opening up a shower. Before you do open any type of electric showers, make sure you turn off the electricity supply to your home. It is also beneficial to turn off the water supply so water does not leak into the shower once it has been opened.
There are several servicing options that can be worked on a shower so the above should be done when the following are being worked on.
The electric showers case is removed or changing the shower case if it has been damage in some way. If water has got into the shower which can be electrically dangerous this is most certainly a time to switch of the electricity. If the electric shower starts to smoke or smell then again use all safety precautions.
